Caleb Sturgis made three field goals, including a clutch kick from 48 yards to seal the win late. The run game was huge, Wentz said. It was good to get Ryan the ball, feed him the rock and he was running angry. That makes my job easier.Matt Ryan threw a 76-yard touchdown pass to Taylor Gabriel in the fourth quarter to give Atlanta (6-4) a 15-13 lead, but Philadelphia answered.Mathews ran in from the 5 and also converted the 2-point conversion for a 21-15 lead with 7:14 left in the game.On Atlantas ensuing possession, Julio Jones dropped a pass on third-and-12 and the Falcons punted away. Jones couldnt make a difficult catch on fourth-and-5 on Atlantas next drive.Jones, sporting fashionable cleats to support the NFLs Salute To Service, had 10 catches for 135 yards. The Falcons came in averaging 33.8 points. But they settled for field goals of 38, 43 and 46 yards by Matt Bryant before Ryan connected with Gabriel. They outdid us in all phases, Falcons coach Dan Quinn said. We had our opportunities and we didnt nail them. We had the lead and couldnt close it.Mathews had just nine carries combined in the past two games while 33-year-old Darren Sproles was featured. But coach Doug Pederson made a point to establish the run right away. Mathews carried seven times for 34 yards on the first drive, taking it in from the 4 for a 7-0 lead.Rookie Wendell Smallwood had 70 yards rushing and Philadelphia finished with a season-high 208 on the ground.Thats an explosive offense and I felt we had to possess the ball and running game had to be a factor, Pederson said.Ryan was 18 of 33 for 267 yards, one TD and one interception.QUOTABLE: Eagles wide receiver Jordan Matthews was upset after not getting a call on a shot to the head from Keanu Neal in the fourth quarter. He had a busted lip and needed to replace his facemask because it was bent. They can look up at the screen and see it. Just get the call right, he said.STAY ON THE SIDELINE: Ryan and Atlantas high-powered offense spent a lot of time watching from the sideline. The Eagles dominated time of possession nearly 2 to 1 by controlling the ball for 38:10.LINE PLAY: The Eagles won the battle on both sides, pushing the Falcons defense around and paving the way for the run game. Atlantas offensive line allowed Ryan to get pressured and forced him to make quick throws several times. He was sacked twice.HOME DOMINANCE: The Eagles are 4-0 at home, including convincing wins over the Steelers and Vikings. Theyve outscored their opponents 108-38.DOUBLE DUTY: Bryant had two decent punts after Matt Bosher left with a hamstring injury in the fourth quarter.DRIVE-STOPPERS: Vic Beasley Jr. had two sacks, including a strip that forced Wentz to fumble and the Falcons recovered at their own 42. Philip Wheeler stopped Mathews at the 1 and Paul Worrilow tacked Mathews for a 1-yard loss on the next play to force a field goal in the fourth quarter.PLAYING DEEP: On consecutive plays to end the first half, Jones and then Eagles wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham played deep safety to defend potential desperation passes.INJURIES: Eagles CB Nolan Carroll left the game late in the first half after sustaining a concussion. ... LOUIS -- Attorneys for the St. Tinashe Panyangara, Zimbabwes pace spearhead, has been ruled out of the two-Test series against New Zealand after failing to recover from a back injury. Panyangara, who picked up the injury during a training camp ahead of Zimbabwes limited-overs series against India in June, is expected to resume bowling in August. That means Zimbabwe will likely look to the recent A series against South Africa at home for a replacement. Shingi Masakadza and Brian Vitori, who played one game each during the series, are the most high-profile bowlers competing for the slot.Masakadza, who took three wickets in the first innings of the first four-day fixture in Harare, also offers a batting option down the order while Vitoris left-arm action will provide variation, although he is short of match practice.Vitori, who was out of action for six months after being suspended for an illegal action in February, made a comeback in the second match in Bulawayo, but was both expensive and ineffective. He conceded 106 in 21 wicketless overs, and sent down eight no-balls.A wild card would be Victor Nyauchi who opened the bowling with Masakadza in the Harare game and returned figures of 1 for 94 in the first innings and 2 for 26 in the second. The pace department is not Zimbabwes only concern, however. With Graeme Cremer likely to captain the Test side as well, after he was given the job for the ODIs and T20Is against India in June, they could find themselves limited to a legspinner, should theey go into the Test with just one specialist slow bowler.ddddddddddddJohn Nyumbu could be an alternative if they choose to field a second spinner. With conditions at Queens Sports Club expected to be slow and low, Zimbabwe will also have to call on the all-round ability of the likes of Sikandar Raza and Sean Williams to perform in both disciplines.Although Hamilton Masakadza was relieved of the captaincy duties after the World T20, he is expected to take up his position at No.3, leaving it up to Vusi Sibanda and Tino Mawoyo, who have Test experience, to battle it out with in-form Brian Chari and Prince Masvaure at the top of the order.Chari scored 98 in the first match against South Africa A while Masvaure made 146 in the second, which should give Zimbabwe some much-needed batting depth in Brendan Taylors absence. This will be Zimbabwes first Test series since November 2014, when they toured Bangladesh. Zimbabwe have not played Tests at home since a one-off fixture against South Africa in August that year.It will also be Makhaya Ntinis first Test series in charge, after he took over the head coaching duties ahead of the India series. Ntini has not been confirmed as the permanent coach of the team but remains in charge until a decision is made. He will be joined by fellow South African Lance Klusener, who is the batting consultant. ' ' '
