Parramatta have moved to quash reports Kieran Foran has quit the NRL club.Reports emerged on Friday morning Foran had walked out on his $4.8 million contract with the Eels and had advised coach Brad Arthur of his intention to have an indefinite break from rugby league.Foran has been battling injury and personal issues. However the Eels moved quickly to quell speculation he had left the club. The Parramatta Eels have not received a request from Kieran Forans management regarding a release from his contract, the club said in a statement.Kierans welfare is the clubs primary concern and the Eels will continue to offer him all the resources available to aid in his recovery. The club will be making no further comment on the matter.Foran has been ruled out of the rest of the NRL season due to a shoulder injury suffered in Round 11.But has been remiss in attending rehabilitation and it is a situation that resulted in him being handed a breach notice and being stripped of the Eels captaincy. The Manly premiership winner has had a troubled year in which he was treated for depression in a Brisbane clinic in late April following an overdose of prescription medicine. He has also been involved in a battle with the Sea Eagles over $150,000 worth of third-party agreements while playing only nine games for Parramatta. The drama continues a year from hell for Parramatta, labelled their worst ever by club great Peter Sterling. The Eels will likely be finally stripped of 12 competition points by the NRL next week when the games governing body hands down its final decision on its investigation into the clubs salary cap breaches. They are also set to post a $10 million loss for the 2016 season due to the ongoing troubles.Star winger Semi Radradra is facing domestic violence charges amid speculation that continues to link him to a move to French rugby. If Foran does leave the Eels, it could pave the way for Jarryd Hayne to return after his stint in the NFL and his endeavours to play rugby union sevens at the Rio Olympics. Yu-An Chiang was the top scorer for Chinese Taipei with 16 points.India had also upset China and Philippines earlier on in this competition. Considering the higher number of teams this time around, this is Indias best ever performance at the Asian level in 27 years, since they finished sixth at the 1989 FIBA Asia Championship.?Chinese Taipei took the early initiative in the match and surged ahead 22-15 in the first quarter. The Indians, however, came back strongly and in the second quarter took a slender one-point lead at 33-32.In the second half, two of Indias Big Three - centre Amritpal and shooting guard Vishesh Bhriguvanshi - started to take over. A powerfful dunk by Amritpal midway through the third got India a slender three-point lead, before Taipei made another push of their own to lead 50-46.dddddddddddd.The momentum swung back Indias way late in the period thanks to six unanswered points, which included a two pointer by ?Talwinderjit Sahi with just eight seconds left.India had now outscored Taipei in back to back quarters and led 52-50 heading into the final 10 minutes. It set the ball rolling for the Indians in the fourth and final quarter as they completely dominated the period with a 28-18 scoreline to seal the contest.?The margin of the 80-68 victory is especially significant considering that Taipei had beaten India by 24 points (90-66) earlier on in the preliminary group B. Prior to that, India had lost to Taipei by six points during the 38th William Jones Cup International Basketball Tournament in July. ' ' '
