Rugby star Jarryd Hayne told a newspaper in New Zealand that hed return to the NFL if the league had a minor league system.Hayne, who announced his retirement from the NFL in May, said he left the league because he couldnt get on the field enough to improve as a player.I need to be getting game time and you just cant get that over there [in the NFL] because of the way it works, Hayne told the New Zealand Herald.The offense is only on for a certain amount of time and then theres five other running backs, he said. He fumbled his first touch as the teams punt returner in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings and was waived by the 49ers in October, only to later re-sign with the team.
